Our Story, Connor's Perspective

Once upon a time, I, Connor Lockey, a former interior Park Ranger in Algonquin Park with 4 years of experience, attempted to venture out of my natural habitat into the wilderness of Pukaskwa National Park. I had been planning the camping trip for days, spending a total of 20 hours on research to perfect my journey. I scoured blog posts, searched Google for essential information, and delved into Reddit to find additional tips. Little did I know that after booking my "perfect trip," I would receive a call from Parks Canada the day before departure.

The call came from a Parks Canada employee who informed me that I had booked a campsite 45 km away from any access point for just one night. Enraged, I cancelled the trip, expressing my frustration to the Parks Canada employee with a few choice words regarding the campsite information. I thought to myself, "I am not a foolish person and I know a lot about camping; surely others have faced similar challenges."

And thus, kids, that was how the idea for Qamp was born.

What Is Qamp?

Qamp is the ultimate camper hub, where campers can plan their camping trips with data like how difficult a trip will be, how long it will take a camper to get to a point, where all the moose/bear/snake etc… sightings occur and much much more.

Why we need you

We started this store for two main reasons:

  • We wanted to spread the awareness of the Qamp brand, offering high quality clothing to our loyal followers.
  • Start-up costs of our business were starting to get out of hand, slowing our operations down. Since we cannot raise venture capital at this time due to the lack of traction in the business, we wanted to offer a way of crowdfunding while providing value back to our followers.
